CBT 101

Overview

This computer-based course is designed to provide basic knowledge and skills associated with operating SEL relays.

Course topics include:

  • Relay communication interfaces, including front-panel, HyperTerminal, and acSELerator® SEL-5030 Software
  • SELogic® control equations
  • Common terminology associated with SEL products
  • PC operations related to installing, configuring, testing, and setting SEL products
  • SEL-4000 Relay Test System

What You Will Learn

At the conclusion of this course, students can:

  • Establish a serial communications link using HyperTerminal and acSELerator
  • Explain common terms associated with SEL products
  • Identify front-panel controls and explain their functions
  • Retrieve and read data recorded by the relay
  • Explain SELogic control equation operator and variable/timer functions
  • Construct a control equation and scheme using SELogic operators to combine relay elements
  • Install and configure acSELerator, SEL-5601, and SEL-5401 Software
  • Run a simple trip test using the SEL-4000 Relay Test System
